WHAT'S NEW

TRACKADDIX '07 Finale

Even a late day storm could not put a damper on the final TrackAddix trackday for 2007. No matter what you brung or what your experience level was. Everyone had a good time.

The day stayed dry right up to the late afternoon and the slow, medium and fast groups got in a lot of seat time.
Before the heavens opened up we were warned by our Red Light Rescue safety crew, that a big storm cell was about
to hit us. So we got the corner worker staff off and the riders clear of the track before it hit and boy did it hit.

The track opened up again after allowing the storm to pass and the cornerworkers to get back out to their posts. This allowed the rain tire shod riders and the brave street guys a chance to test their skills before the track dried. Thanks to all the people who stayed to the end of a great
day and thanks to the TrackAddix team for putting it on.

See you next year on the long and short tracks at BIR.

Another year and I get the chance to ride with the old school players. But first of all, I have to get up to speed. Easier said than done I cant get my fat gut to fit over the tank.

Even so, I get my friends to help me and the newriders class goes very smoothly.
This gives me time to go out on the track and scuff in my Dunlop trackday-street tires for another crack at the lap timer. Yet another change of ride height to compensate from the race tires used up by Mark Chido last time out on my bike.
I wish to thank the two Marks, Jensen and Miller for their help in the classroom and on the track which allowed me to at least
give it a try for another year. So I'm an Expert for another year. "That's Year number 40 folks!"

"Boy was it hot!!
All we did all day was stand around
looking for relief." Even the Stewarts stuck to their air conditioned duties and did a fabulous job keeping us cool with gentle reminders
" To stay hydrated."

The gladiators of the weekend were those
who done 10 or more races while chasing
their respective championships and those who competed in the 2hr endurance race
at the height of the heat wave while we
watched the action from the sidelines

Of course we had a newriders school which introduced a few more souls to the frying pan, who done a great job of staying upright for the day and getting their licenses. Congratulations
to all who succeeded in their first weekend and I hope you all got home safely.

May 2007 CRA - BIR

Our odds are running at about 50/50 at the season opener
at Brainerd International Raceway, Minnesota!
Where we were able to get most of the new rider school
in with decent weather.
Then the heavens opened up! I blame it on newrider #666
seen here in the background.

Gareth - Belstaff Gear Even though the weather turned against us it became prudent
to run the newrider race in the rain with explicit instructions
to all participents that they run the middle lane of the drag strip
for every lap.
Even I had to wear appropriate rain gear (Belstaff)
Congratulation to all the newriders who enmasse finished a
gruelling race and received their licenses.
Thanks to all the cornerworkers and spectators who stood out along with Jonah (apt name, eh!) to get the photos of the winner below.

Back in the day!!!
When racers could rave all night and race all day, we won our races on less than 100 hp. Now, with the most popular class of racing being on
bikes with a minimum of 100hp, we need to re-evaluate our own personal condition in order to benefit from these incredible machines.
Take this opportunity to click on the link below and
maybe spend your money more wisely, eh!

Even though the weather was frigid. The crowds were great and warm hearted. The participation and interest shown to the only Trackday vendor TrackAddix was better than last year.
